  • Who can be a member of the library?
    Registered members like Ph. D students, Masters / Undergraduate Students, Part-time students, Faculty members / Officers, Staff members and special member of ERD Foundation.
  • How many books can be issued by the user?

  • Is there any special library membership facility for Students?
    Yes, Maulana Azad Central Library provides special library membership opportunity to the students if someone is interested to take additional library facility he or she must have pay additional library membership fees to library authority.

  • Is there a fine for late return of books?
    Yes, fine charges as per following.

    Rs. 10/- per day for the first one week, 20/- per day for the second week & for more delay rupees 30/- will be charged per day to the user if books is not returned after the due date.

  • Can we refer to dissertation & Ph. D. thesis?
    Yes, all the members of library can refer to dissertations & Ph.D. Theses. Outsiders are not allowed to refer to dissertations and theses.
  • Where can I pay library dues?
    Library dues can be paid in cash in the circulation section directly and Library professional will generate fine receipt.
  • Can the dissertation/theses be issued?
    No, we can never issue grey literature.
  • Can I renew the issued book in my name for one more week?
    Yes, but check with the library circulation counter whether the book is reserved by anyone else.
  • Whether library is open on Sunday?
    Yes, Library is open on Sunday for reading purpose only, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and no Issue & Return is done on Sunday.
  • What are the issue/return timings in the Library?
    Issue and return can be done on working days only.

  • Can books be reserved if issued?
    Yes, all members of the library can reserve issued books.
  • Can I borrow Journals or Magazines for overnight or for short period?
    No, we never issue Journals & Magazines outside library.
  • Can I suggest a purchase of book for Library Collection?
    Yes, a registered library member can directly recommend a book for purchase by filling “Book recommendation form” that can be obtained from the library website or in the library.
  • If, I lost an issued book, what I have to do?
    You are required to report immediately in the library by writing application to librarian and after that you have to submit the new copy of the same book to the library within stipulated time.
  • Can I take a photocopy of reading materials or personal book in to the reading hall?
    You can bring your personal copy or photocopies study material in to the reading hall after verifying at the entry gate to our staff at the time of entry and exit.
